Scriptural Encouragement.

"...in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for your in Christ Jesus." -1 Thessalonians 5:18

What beautiful memories we have tied up in the joyous day of Thanksgiving!  Family and friends gathered around the heavily adorned dinner table, the men (mostly) huddled around the TV set eagerly awaiting the Cowboys kicking off, and mostly the giving of blessings filling the feast scented air...

But just who is it that YOU are giving thanks to for your blessings?

On this Thanksgiving, I want to remind myself where the true THANKS are to be given, and that is to our God.  I am thankful most this Thanksgiving for not just what he has given me and how he has changed my life this year, but for the scriptural encouragement he has  provided me each step of the way.  Two-thousand-and-eleven is not a year that I could have survived without His guidance and support.

So, today, I am thankful for God providing scriptural encouragement to get me through all the seasons that this year has brought.

"O come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation.  Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.  For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods, in whose hand are the depths of the earth; the peaks of the mountains are His also.  The sea is His, for it was He who made it; and His hands formed the dry land.  Come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD our Maker."  -Psalms 95:1-6
